Jeff Bezos is an entrepreneur who owns the largest online retailer in the United States, Amazon. After graduating from Princeton University, he took a job at Wall Street's prestigious investment bank D.E. Shaw & Co. but quickly determined that he would rather work on his own ideas than continue to work in the unfulfilling world of investments banking. He quit his job and founded Amazon in 1994 with $250,000 of his own money and $1 million from investors.

Bezos also founded aerospace company, Blue Origin, in 2000 and purchased The Washington Post newspaper in 2013. In 2017, he was the world’s wealthiest person with a net worth of more than $112 billion. His net worth has steadily increased since then.
