Pythagorean Theorem

The Pythagorean theorem is one of the most famous and important formulas in all of mathematics. This theorem states that for a right-angled triangle, the sum of the squares of the lengths of the two shorter sides equals the square of the length of the hypotenuse. This formula is easy to understand if you are given two sides of a right triangle with their corresponding lengths, or if you are given an angle between two sides.

The Pythagorean theorem was discovered by ancient Greeks, who used it to find the length of an unknown side in a right-angled triangle.

The Pythagorean Theorem has many uses in the world beyond just classroom geometry. While it can be used to calculate the length of a triangle, it can also be used for solid geometry, real estate, and architecture.
