### Handy Tips

• Multiplying a base-10 number by `n` adds ```log2 n``` 0's to the end of the number in base-2, so long as `n` is a power of 2.
• 3 x 2 = 6
3 = 11, `log2 2` = 1, so 6 = 110
• By extension, dividing a base-10 number by `n` removes `log2 n` 0's from the end of it's base-2 equivalent, so long as `n` is a power of 2.
• 12 รท 4 = 3.
12 = 1100, `log2 4` = 2, so 3 = 11.
• In base-2, even numbers end in 0. Odd numbers end in 1.

Binary numbers are made up of only two digits, the ones, and zeros. They are the base-two system that is used in computers.

Binary numbers can be seen as a string of bits that can either be 0s or 1s. The number 1000110 is made up of seven binary digits - three 1s and four 0. The number 1011011 is composed of two 0s and five 1s.
