Complementary colors are two colors that are opposite to one another on the color wheel.
The human eye will automatically tend to associate these colors with one another, so it is often used as a design technique. For example, if we were designing a poster for an art exhibition and wanted to include information about the artist's name and their work, we might use complementary colors like blue and orange, which would create a colorful effect without detracting from the text.
When mixed together, they create a subtle neutral. They go particularly well with each other because they create the feeling of balance and harmony.
The complementary color is most often used in art to create contrast that helps the viewer see more details in the paintings, drawings, and photographs.
